CONTRIBUTE AND SUPPORT

Film : the Last Film : Curtain Call (working title) :

Since 2001 Goat Island has made several film works that sit alongside live performance pieces.

For our last film we intend to make a multi-screen work which will play performatively with space and time and which will not only draw on The Lastmaker performance but also open up new endings towards as yet unknown beginnings. The working title for our final film is Curtain Call and will involve shooting in several different locations on S16mm film beginning in early 2009. We invite you to support this project by making a financial contribution through our Paypal link or by sending a check to the address below.

Goat Island in FILM

In 2001 the company made it's aching like birds as a 'dance for camera' work - drawing on material from It's an earthquake in my heart and reconfiguring it for a specially choreographed ten minute film. Funded by South East Dance in the UK, the film has toured to over 15 international dance film festivals and has been included in programs in Montreal, Chicago, Sydney, London and Japan.

In 2003 the company took a fragment of an unused scene from it's aching like birds and edited it into a one minute film - Dark. This micro short has toured extensively and has been included in programs in the UK and abroad in both gallery spaces and at Film Festivals.

In 2005 the company made Daynightly They re-school you The Bears-Polka - a double film installation. Although shot after the completion of When will the September roses bloom? Last night was only a comedy, the film was developed alongside the live performance with which it shares material. This was a self-funded project that was made with much good will and help from Chicago based artists and a London based cinematographer and sound designer. This project, in keeping with its nature, has had a double life - screened as a split-screen film at various film festivals in the UK and also as a gallery installation in Chicago, Helsinki, Rio de Janeiro, London and Glasgow.
